Erling Haaland has scored more league goals than Man United in 2020

Erling Haaland stunned football fans especially Man United faithful when he was spotted holding a Borussia Dortmund shirt after weeks of speculation he was set to join the Red Devils.

Dortmund triggered Haaland’s £18 million release clause at former club Salzburg and he was off to the German club, dashing hopes of a reunion with former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford.

But what could be even more annoying for Man United fans is knowing that Haaland has scored more goals than their darling club in 2020.

According to stat on Give Me Sport, the 19-year-old Norwegian has five goals in 2020 for Dortmund while Man United has scored just four goals in 2020.

What is even more stunning is that Haaland has played just 57 minutes in 2020 while Man United have played 360 minutes of football this year.

Man United have played four league games this year (2-0 defeat to Arsenal, 4-0 win vs Norwich, 2-0 defeat vs Liverpool and a 2-0 defeat to Burnley).

On the other hand, Haaland has only featured twice as a substitute for Dortmund in the Bundesliga.

He scored a 23 minute hat-trick on his debut coming on against Augsburg as he helped his side come back from two goals down to win 5-3.

But that didn’t still earn him a start in Dortmund’s next match at home to Koln.

Instead, he was brought in with 65 minutes already played, but that didn’t stop him from bagging another two goals as Dortmund ran out 5-1 winners.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Haaland made history as the first Dortmund player to score five goals in his first two games for the club - with all of them coming in 57 minutes of action in the Bundesliga.

Haaland was heavily linked to joining Manchester United in the January window having previously played under United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Molde in their native Norway.

But Dortmund got in the way of the Red Devils and paid £18million and now the German side a now reaping heavily on the rewards.
