- Rodrigo could be joining Barcelona before the end of this month
- The Catalans are planning to bring him to Camp Nou as replacement for Injured Suarez
- Rodrigo has scored just two goals in 17 La Liga appearances this season
Barcelona are reportedly planning to land Valencia forward Rodrigo on a short term loan until the end of the ongoing season.
The Catalans are currently deficient in the attacking department due to the knee injury Luiz Suarez suffered earlier this year.
He has however undergone surgery but will not return to action until the end of the season barring any complications.
The forward, who clocked 33 on Friday, January 24th, is expected to miss about 22 matches which will pose a serious threat to the ambition of the Blaugranas.
Coach Quique Setien's side is now looking to sign the Spaniard on a six-month deal until he can have his striker back.
Although, Daily Mail reports that Barca have been a long-time admirer of the 28-year-old, who has just two La Liga goals and six assists in his last 17 appearances for his present club.
The publication further revealed that the former Benfica star has 56 goals and 40 assists in 208 matches since he moved to Spain in 2015.

La Liga defending champions are said to have agreed to sign the player on a permanent deal provided he shines during his test period in the next five months.
Meanwhile, both are yet to agree on whether Barcelona will be forced to pay a sum of £50 million for the forward, as the Catalans are hoping the clause to be optional.
The Camp Nou side has also agreed according to report that they will pay a fine if they refuse to hand Rodrigo a permanent deal before the player returns to his parent club.
Reports claim Portuguese super-agent Jorge Mendes flew to Barcelona earlier in the week over a possible move for the forward this month.
With both sides clashing in the Spanish League on Saturday, January 25, a deal might be sealed at the end of the meeting.
Barca chiefs Eric Abidal, Ramon Planes and Oscar Grau were in the delegation that met with Mendes over the signature of the Spaniard.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Luis Suarez has suggested three strikers that would fit into his shoes when he leaves Barcelona in the future.
The Uruguayan mentioned Chelsea's Tammy Abraham, Valencia' Maxi Lopez and Inter Milan's Lautaro Martinez.
Abraham has been in superb form for Chelsea this season under Frank Lampard and earned himself a call up into the England national team.
