- Islam Slimani could be on his way to join Manchester United from Leicester City
- The striker is playing for Monaco in France on loan from the Foxes
With seven days to the end of the ongoing January 2020 transfer window, Manchester United have reportedly made a move to sign Leicester City striker Islam Slimani.
Algeria international Islam Slimani is currently playing for French side Monaco on loan from Leicester City.
Manchester United are presently battling to cope with the injury sustained by striker Marcus Rashford who could be out of action for the next four months.
The Red Devils have already suffered the consequence of Marcus Rashford not in their squad after losing at home against Burnley in their last encounter.
United fans stormed social media after the embarrassing home defeat calling for the sack of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
And according to the latest report by Daily Mail, Manchester United chiefs have made inquiry about Islam Slimani ahead of a move.
They want to sign the 31-year-old Algerian football star on loan until the end of the season so as to help their quest of making the top four in the Premier League.
The report added that Leicester City are considering how desperate Manchester United are to get Islam Slimani and in which the Red Devils could offer only £4 million for his signature.
But should Leicester City refuse to do business with Manchester United chiefs, the Red Devils have plan B to lure former striker Carlos Tevez back to Old Trafford on a rescue mission.
Despite Monaco's trouble season in France, Islam Slimani has managed to score seven goals in 11 games as his club sit 10th on the standings.
Manchester United are occupying sixth position on the English topflight and they are also six points behind fourth placed Chelsea.
Last term, the Red Devils failed to qualify for the Champions League and all what United fans are clamoring for this season is for the club to return to Europe.
