Manchester United vs Burnley: Solskjaer claims defeat was bad for Red Devils

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has shown remorse for his wards' embarrassing Premier League home defeat against Burnley.

The Red Devils were stunned 2-0 on Wednesday night, January 22, in front of their fans in which the defeat pilled more pressure on manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Chris Wood and Jay Rodriguez scored the two goals which gave Burnley an historical win at Old Trafford for the first time in 58 years.

But despite the defeat, Manchester United are still occupying fifth position on the Premier League standings as their struggle to qualify for Champions League next term continues.

United fans have been calling for the sack of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer considering the club unimpressive performances this season in all competitions.

The Norwegian football manager has now stated clearly that the performance of his wards against Burnley was not good enough for the club.

He also made it clear that he would do everything possible to make sure that his players start getting good results which will make the fans happy.

“Tonight wasn't good enough for a Manchester United team. The boys have given everything they've got, but they're experiencing this period for the first time in their lives,'' Solskjaer explained according to the report on UK Mirror.

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand also made it clear that Manchester United's performances have not been good this season in all competitions.

Ferdinand who was speaking as a pundit expressed his frustration towards Manchester United defeat at home against Burnley.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was appointed as Manchester United manager in December 2018 on interim capacity replacing Jose Mourinho who was sacked.

His performances most especially the win over Paris-Saint-Germain made United chiefs to give him the job on permanent basis.

But this season, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his wards have not gotten their rhythm at Old Trafford and the Red Devils' fans have lost their patience with the Norwegian football manager.
