Cristiano Ronaldo continued his daring show of incredible form with another effort that eased Juventus past their league rivals AS Roma in a thrilling encounter on Wednesday, January 22.

Juventus came into the Coppa Italia tie with the Portuguese star leading the attack again in a formidable partnership with Gonzalo Higuain upfront.

Ronaldo quickly justified his presence with an astonishing 26th minute brilliant solo effort which handed Juve the early lead in style-- his 7th goal in last 4 games, all thanks to Gonzalo Higuain who provided a wonderful assist.

Juventus continued to dominate the game from that moment, with Ronaldo and Huguain putting more pressure on Roma defence.

A slight mistake from Roma backline saw Juventus doubling the lead through Rodrigo Bentancur who converted Douglas Costa's assist into a wonderful goal in the 38th minute.

More unfortunate for the visitors, Juventus got another goal in the less two minutes into the end of first half through Leonardo Bonucci.

The defence ace headed home in the 42nd minute after Costa created another moment of magic, his second assist of the game.

Roma made some changes in the second half which saw Justin Kluivert subbed for Davide Santon in the 46th minute.

The change proved essential as it gave more boost to Roma's strength upfront. And of course in the 50th minute, a couple of attacks from the Romans saw Gianluigi Buffon concede an own goal.

With pressure coming in from Roma, Sarri quickly took Douglas Costa out for Aaron Ramsey in the 67th minute. Adrien Rabiot was also subbed for Blaise Matuidi to tighten the midfield.

The game ended with Juventus dominating the possession and grabbing the vital victory over their league rivals.
