BMO tells PDP to apologise for protesting against Supreme Court judgment

The Buhari Media Organisation (BMO) has asked the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to Nigerians for organising a protest against the Supreme Court judgment which removed Emeka Ihedioha as governor of Imo state.

The BMO in a statement on Wednesday, January 22, said it was an insult for the PDP to protest against Nigeria’s judiciary, The Nation reports.

The group accused the PDP of being childish for calling on the Supreme Court to reverse its decision on the Imo governorship election.

It said the opposition was castigating the apex court because of the fear that coming judgments are less likely going to favour it.

Meanwhile, Lauretta Onochie, the special assistant to the Nigerian president, Muhammadu Buhari, on social media, alleged the PDP hired the people who participated in the party's protest on Monday, January 21.

Onochie claimed the southeast chapter of the opposition party paid the protesters N2,000 and "nearly killed them.

The presidential aide in a Twitter post on Tuesday, January 21, shared a video of some the alleged PDP protesters who were involved in an accident at the Transcorp Hilton junction in Abuja.

In another report, APC appears not happy that the PDP protested against the recent Supreme Court judgment on Imo state.

The APC, in a message to the PDP, told the latter that it is ridiculing the country and giving it and the judiciary a bad name in the eyes of the world with its protest.

According to the APC, the PDP is now a major danger to the country's democracy and its activities must be curbed urgently.
