Nigeria's Super Eagles have been drawn in Group C with Cape Verde, Liberia and Central African Republic for the 2022 FIFA World Cup championship in Qatar.

The three-time African champions have been on the steady rise under the guidance of German head coach Gernot Rohr since his appointment in 2016.

Although, the group looks easy for the 2019 AFCON championship bronze medal but the manager believes the opponents are tricky.

However, Rohr believes some of the teams are trickier than they look adding that his side will have to be in their best to achieve result at the end of the qualifiers.

“We’ve 3 tricky opponents in Group C. A few years ago, Cape Verde were Africa’s best FIFA ranked team, CAR have some good players in Europe and we played a friendly in Liberia recently that wasn’t easy...we’ve to be at our best against them,” Rohr told NFF website.

The country that finished at the top of the table will battle another country in the final stage of the qualification process.

Rohr and his men finished third at the 2019 AFCON competition, winning bronze medal at the end of the tournament after beating Tunisia in the losers' final.

The 60-year-old tactician was appointed the Super Eagles handler in 2016 following Sunday Oliseh's resignation.

Meanwhile, it is left to be seen if the manager will remain coach of the country's national team after recently engaging in a war of words with his employers over salary and other related issues.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Super Eagles will begin their Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign in Group C alongside Cape Verde, Central Africa Republic and Liberia.

The three-time African champions qualified for their sixth World Cup tournament in 2018 and will be looking to make it four times in a row to the oil-rich nation.

Liberia were in the same group with Nigeria during the Japan/Korea 2002 World Cup qualifier where both sides won their respective home matches.
