Renowned and multiple award-winning writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has emerged the first recipient of the Belle Van Zuylen Ring Prize. gathers that the Belle van Zuylen Ring is an honorary prize awarded by the International Literature Festival Utrecht (ILFU), Netherlands.

Adichie took to her Instagram page to express her excitement over the prize, saying it feels good when creatives are aware that people appreciate their works.

The celebrated writer also delivered the Belle Van Zuylen Lecture and was in conversation with the Dutch author and public speaker, Nancy Jouwe.

According to the organisers of the prize, Adichie deserves it “because of the unique way in which she knows how to represent and question the world of today and its ingrained thinking patterns".

Meanwhile, previously reported that the popular Nigerian author is definitely one that stays true to her roots despite her influence in the international scene.
