Reigning Premier League champions Manchester City on Saturday, January 18, came back from a goal down to draw visiting Crystal Palace 2-2 in a tough Premier League encounter.

A defeat would have been a big blow for the Citizens in their efforts to mount pressure on Liverpool who are topping the Premier League standings.

But the Citizens would also have themselves to blame for not winning this encounter after Fernadinho scored late minute own goal.

Manchester City would have scored the first goal in the 4th minute when Kevin De Bruyne provided a superb assist for Sergio Aguero, but his shot was blocked by goalkeeper Guaita.

Three minutes later, the visitors also had their chance to score through Jordan Ayew who benefited from a pass by Wilfried Zaha, but he was unable to beat goalkeeper Ederson.

Crystal Palace scored their goal in the 39th minute through Cenk Tosun who gained from an assist by Gary Cahill.

And after conceding in front of their fans, Manchester City changed their pattern to more attacking style, but they were unable to break Crystal Palace's defense.

The first half however ended 1-0 with the visitors taking the lead to the dressing room at the Etihad stadium.

Pep Guardiola's men had to wait till the 82nd minute before scoring the first goal through Sergio Aguero who was assisted by Gabriel Jesus.

Benjamin Mendy provided the assist which made Sergio Aguero to score his second goal in the 87th minute, but an own goal by Fernandinho in the 90th minute denied Man City the win as it ended 2-2.
