- Oprah Winfrey never got married but she doesn't regret her decision to not 'put a ring on it'
- The media personality recently opened up a little bit about her relationship with Stedman Graham
- According to her, they are better off being partners than spouses
Media executive and philanthropist Oprah Winfrey has chosen to remain unmarried and is happy about her decision.
She and her man, Stedman Graham, have been together since 1986 and are still enjoying each other's company and their relationship.
According to All4Women, they both agree that if they had gotten married, things would not have worked out.
Legit.ng gathers that he did ask Oprah to be his wife though, and she didn't refuse. They just never made it official with an actual wedding.
People have been wondering for years if Oprah and Stedman would tie the knot or not, and she knows it.
"There were hundreds of tabloid stories, weekly, on whether we would marry. In 1993, the moment after I said yes to his proposal, I had doubts. I realised I didn’t actually want a marriage. I wanted to be asked. I wanted to know he felt I was worthy of being his missus."
However, Oprah added that she didn't want the compromises and sacrifices necessary to make a marriage work.
She said: "My life with the show was my priority, and we both knew it."
Oprah described Stedman as a real gentleman and said they have a spiritual relationship that benefits them both.
The media executive said: "Anyone who’s ever met him is always amazed by what a genuine gentleman he is. He’s so positive. Wants the best for me and everyone he knows. Truly wishes people well.
"Our romance is what Gary Zukav defines as a spiritual partnership: partnership between equals for the purpose of spiritual growth."
