Uzodinma orders probe of Okorocha, Ihedioha, Ohakim as governors

- Uzodinma wants probe of the last three administrations before his own

- Former governors affected by the ordered probe are Rochas Okorocha, Ikedi Ohakim and Emeka Ihedioha

Just sworn in as governor of Imo, Hope Uzodimma issued his first order late Wednesday, January 15, asking that the tenures of three past heads of governments in the state be probed.

Those whose tenures are affected as a result of the order include Ikedi Ohakim, his successor, Rochas Okorocha and Emeka Ihedioha, who until recently was in charge of government in the state.

This Day reports that Uzodinma issued the order when he spoke for the first time after his inauguration.

He asked the state's accountant-general to send to him the full financial standing of the state as at May 29, 2010.

To all the permanent secretaries in the state, Uzodinma issued a four-day order for them to present the status of contracts that had been awarded within the same period and further instructed that all payments to contractors should be stopped.

While promising to make the state work again, he said his government is anchored on three ideas - rehabilitation, reconstruction and recovery.

He praised the Nigerian judiciary, thanked God and said he had forgiven all those who played roles in stealing the mandate he suffered to get.

Legit.ng earlier reported how Uzodinma, yet to be sworn in, issued a directive to banks to freeze all accounts belonging to the state government with effect from January 14, 2020.

The report said Uzodinma, who was recently declared by the Supreme Court, issued the instruction to all financial institutions and the accountant-general of Imo state, not to honour any transaction from the government of chief Emeka Ihedioha or his officials.
