Alleged extortion: Shehu Sani’s sins have found him - Lauretta Onochie says

Lauretta Onochie, the personal assistant to the president on social media has suggested Shehu Sani who is currently being investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commis (EFCC) over alleged extortion may have something to hide.

The presidential aide reacting to the allegation of extortion against Sani in a tweet on Monday, January 13, said people who make empty noise were part of those fighting back against corruption.

Onochie said that anti-graft agencies do not look at the direction of noisemakers because their sins will locate them.

"I have always opined that those who make the most empty noise in this nation are members of #CorruptionFightingBack Association Of Nigeria, (CoFiBa) The graft agencies like @officialEFCC do not even need to look in their directions. Their sins will ALWAYS find them.," she tweeted.

Meanwhile, Shehu Sani has accused the EFCC of conniving with his accuser to frame him for alleged extortion.

Premium Times, citing a report by Sahara Reporters stated that the former lawmaker in a statement on Monday, January 13, from detention, alleged that the statement against him was purposely crafted, concocted and packaged by the anti-graft agency connivance with his accuser.

He challenged the EFCC and his accuser to make public any evidence in the form of audio, video, cheque, draft or money transfer to back up the allegations against him.

But the EFCC has insisted that Shehu Sani has questions to answer despite the outright denial of the former federal lawmaker over the allegations against him.

The anti-graft agency has the anti-graft commission denied Sani's claims that he is being persecuted due to his criticisms against President Muhammadu Buhari's administration.
