Charly Boy reacts as Supreme Court sacks Emeka Ihedioha

Nigerian activist, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has taken to social media to react to the news of Supreme Court sacking Emeka Ihedioha as sitting governor of Imo state.

In his place, the apex court declared Hope Uzodimma as the authentic winner of the 2019 governorship election in the state. The decision of the court was handed down by a seven-man panel of justices which declared that Ihedioha was not duly elected.

Reacting to the news, Charly Boy who hails from Oguta in Imo state, described it as the beginning of yet another slavery and he went on to question how long people would continue to sit and do nothing about it.

He wrote: "My People, Heavy Wahala Dey. Second slavery loading, my people looking. Ha, all of us no be foolishoooo Enough !!! of this bullshitooo How long we go dey continue to dey maintain as dey keep obtaining and leaving us with nothing to sustain.

The apex court judgement sacking Ihedioha as Imo governor has been trailed by mixed reactions. Members and supporters of the local chapters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Imo state have varying opinions about the latest development.

While members of the PDP wept profusely over the ruling, those of the APC erupted in jubilation, describing the judgment as a victory for democracy and the rule of law.
