Lagos-Ibadan expressway: Lady claims police and area boys are taking advantage of road repair

- A Nigerian lady has accused police officers of joining hands with area boys to extort Nigerians

- The lady identified as Fayokemi Akinfemiwa said they are taking advantage of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway road repair

- Akinfemiwa shared a video of herself and a couple of commuters arguing with a policeman and area boys after they demanded N100 from them to drive through an alternative road

Recently, the Nigerian government started reconstruction on some major roads in Lagos and some routes leading in and out of the state. The Lagos-Ibadan expressway is one of the roads being repaired.

Due to the fact that the road is used daily by people going and coming from work on the mainland and Island, the road has been congested with traffic, leaving many Lagosians stressed.

A lady identified as Fayokemi Akinfemiwa, who takes the road to and fro on daily basis has accused police officers and area boys of extorting people that want to take alternative routes instead of taking the heavy traffic route.

Akinfemiwa backed her claims up with video evidence shared on her Instagram page. The video showed the lady in a car with a couple of others heading to work.

They were stopped by some area boys and a policeman holding a gun. In the video, they were seen arguing with the men and one of them was heard shouting that the alternative route is a federal road and they should not be stopped or extorted.
