- Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun says the victory of Hope Uzodinma at the Supreme Court can only be attributed to God
- Abiodun expresses the belief that the judgement manifests the divine will of God that truth would always prevail
- The governor urges Emeka Ihedioha sacked by the judgement to see it as God's decision
Dapo Abiodun, governor of Ogun state, has said there is divine intervention in the judgement of the Supreme Court that declared Hope Uzodinma as the duly elected governor of Imo state.
Abiodun said this in reaction to the judgement which sacked Emeka Ihedioha on Tuesday, January 14.
Kunle Somorin, the spokesperson of Abiodun, quoted the governor as saying the judgement showed God was at work in the entire process.
"It is a manifestation of the divine will of God and that truth crushed to earth shall sprout in the long run," Abiodun said.
Abiodun urged Ihedioha to see his removal from office as God's decision and beyond the physical struggle for power.
“Given his antecedents, I have no doubt that Senator Hope Uzodinma has the competence, capacity, character, and wisdom to steer Imo State to the next level of development.
“This is no time for politics but for policies, programme, and actions that will usher in a new lease of life for the people,” Abiodun said.
Abiodun urged Imo state residents to support Uzodinma as he journeys through his term in office.
Legit.ng earlier reported that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said it was at a loss concerning the ruling of the Supreme Court which, on Tuesday, January 14, dismissed the victory of Ihedioha.
The party, in its official reaction to the judgement, which favoured Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress (APC), recalled how he came fourth at the poll and wondered how such a person could be declared the winner.
