A centre has condemned the attack on Nigerian Armed Forces by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state
- The centre said said more blood would have been spilt during the election if not for the brave and uncompromising Nigerian Army personnel on ground during the exercise
- According to the centre, Governor Wike consistently demonstrates in his contorted deceptions on some gullible Nigerians
The Good Governance Advocacy Centre (GGAC) has said it believes the Rivers state governor Nyesom Wike is being haunted by the “innocent blood" spilt during the last general elections in the state.
The group during a press conference in Abuja accused the governor of hiring political thugs to rig the ballot at the last election Rivers state.
Reacting to the remark by Governor Wike on the operations of the Nigerian Military across Nigeria ahead of this year's Armed Forces Remembrance Day, GGAC said more blood would have been spilt during the election if not for the brave and uncompromising Nigerian Army personnel on ground during the exercise.
A statement signed by the convener of GGAC, John Odusote, described Wike's call on Nigerians to snub the sacrifices of “noble and selfless men and women as well as the fallen heroes and heroines of the Nigerian Military” as “ absolutely hollow and meaningless noise”.
Odutose said: "We wish to state unequivocally that no Nigerian Governor or leader anywhere has indulged in such bizarre conduct and utterances like Governor Wike consistently demonstrates in his contorted piousness and deceptions of some gullible Nigerians."
"Nigerians must know that Governor Wike is a dangerous character and his pursuit of power at all cost is strewn with satanic machinations perpetually," Odutose said.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the governor had accused the Nigerian Military of rigging the last concluded 2019 general elections.
