President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed the former director-general of the Department for State Services (DSS), A.A. Gadzama, as the new chairman of the National Institute for Security Studies (NISS).
Nigerian Tribune reports that the appointment, which takes effect from December 16, 2019, for an initial four years, was contained in a statement by the secretary to the government of the federation, Boss Mustapha.
According to Vanguard, the public relations officer of the DSS, Peter Afunanya, confirmed the appointment on Tuesday, January 14.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that President Buhari approved new appointments for parastatals under the Ministry of Communications and the Digital Economy.
It was reported that the special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, said in a statement that the appointment was part of the president’s desire of fast-tracking the targets and mandate of the communications ministry.
In a related development, the president also gave the approvals for new aides to the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The press release signed by Suleiman Haruna, the director of information to the First Lady, confirmed the appointment of new aides for Aisha Buhari.
The appointment of the new officials is also to take immediate effect.
