Nemanja Matic could be handed a new contract that will tie him with Manchester United following club's injury crisis that has left top stars including Paul Pogba sidelined.
The Serbian star is currently out of contract with United, making him open to a potential move elsewhere but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hoping to tie him with another deal till next year.
Matic was brought to Old Trafford by Jose Mourinho from Chelsea but has fallen down the pecking order with Solskjaer who is interested in having Pogba doing the job in the central midfield.
But with both Pogba and Scott McTominay down with injury, Matic's Old Trafford future looks more assured as the club plans a shocking 12-month option for the Serbian.
