James Maddison: Man United to pay £45m plus Lingard for Leicester star

- James Madison, Leicester City midfielder, is being eyed by Manchester United

- Red Devils are reportedly ready to splash £45 million plus Jesse Lingard for the Leicester star

- Maddison’s wage at Leicester is £55k-per-week but United are ready to lure the 25-year-old star with £150k-per-week offer

James Maddison has emerged a transfer target for Manchester United with Red Devils ready to table £45 million plus Jesse Lingard for the Leicester City ace.

Maddison is enjoying a stellar debut season with Foxes since joining them in 2018 from Norwich, scoring impressive nine goals and recording three assists.

And the Premier League giants are plotting a move for the 25-year-old midfielder in a bid to bolster their midfield left less productive since Paul Pogba's absence.

Man United landed Harry Maguire from Leicester City in the last summer for a record fee of £85 million, but that was not enough to solve their crisis in the midfield and defence.

According to UK Sun, the Coventry-born star is now being eyed in a deal that will see Jesse Lingard depart Old Trafford as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hopes to add more fancies and creativity to his midfield.

Lingard, 27, has not recorded any goal or assist this season and has been issued a stern warning by Solskjaer over his questionable commitment to personal development.

Maddison’s wage at Leicester is said to be £55,000 per week but United are ready to table a luring offer of £150,000 per week for the 25-year-old star.

However, Brendan Rodgers is adamant to let any of his top players leave King Power Stadium as he is building his team ahead of next year's Champions League.
