- President Muhammadu has taken a decisive step towards alleviating the pains of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Borno
- The president on Friday, January 10, approved the construction of 10,000 houses in the state
- Added to this, Governor Babagana Umaru Zulum paid a visit to the IDPs and helped them with useful items to cope with the harsh weather conditions
As part of the recovery efforts of the federal government in Borno state after Boko Haram terrorist activities, President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the construction of 10,000 houses in the state.
This was revealed by the governor of the state, Babagana Umaru Zulum, on Friday, January 10, on his official Twitter page.
The kind and commendable gesture from the president came after Zulum paid a visit to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps on Thursday, January 9, where he spent the night distributing items to about 1675 families.
The governor also distributed blankets and mats to National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members to help them cope with the intense harmattan in the region.
He also assured the IDPs of his unrelenting stance to help them resettle comfortably in their various communities.
Even more, Zulum promised the IDPs that the federal government is doint its utmost to see that terrorism across Nigeria, especially in the state, will be a thing of the past soon.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reporetd that Zulum had paid tribute to headquarters of the Nigerian Army for the swiftness with which it announced its readiness to investigate the allegation.
Legit.ng gathered that Zulum spoke in reaction to a statement issued on the night of Monday, January 6, by the coordinator of the Army’s operations’ media, Colonel Aminu Iliyasu.
The governor, in a statement released by his spokesman, Isa Gusau, said the speedy response from the army headquarters reaffirmed what every Nigerian already knows about the exceptional leadership credentials of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, and many others that have done so much for Borno and Nigeria.
