Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen maintained his goal scoring form for Lille in all competitions so far this season after netting in their 2-0 win over Amiens in the French League Cup clash.
The 21-year-old who recently lost the CAF Youth Player of the Year award to Borussia Dortmund's Achraf Hakimi grabbed his 14th goal this season in their quarterfinal clash at Stade Pierre Mauroy.
His goal came just eight minutes after Luiz Araujo opened the scoring for the home team in the 50th minute of the encounter.
Osimhen ran into space after anticipating a pass from Boubakary Soumare and then dribbled past one of the opponent's defenders before putting the ball into the bottom right corner of the post.
The Nigerian star joined the Ligue 1 side in the summer of 2019 and became an instant success for the club hitting double-figure in just six months of his arrival at the club.
He will, however, hope to continue in this form when they travel to Stade Gaston Gerard to battle Dijon this weekend.
It will be worthy to note that Bongani Zungu of South Africa was red-carded just 21 minutes into action after picking up two yellow cards in the first half.
Both sides also failed to find the back of the net after so many attempts coming from tactical approaches from either side.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Lille forward, Victor Osimhen, has attributed part of his success to Emmanuel Amuneke, former Nigeria's Golden Eaglets head coach.
The sensational Super Eagles ace rose through the rank to become an established star with an impressive 10 French league goals and three assists for Christophe Galtier's side this season.
Osimhen, who joined Lille in the last summer from Belgian top side RSC Mouscron for a fee worth of €15 million, has been linked with top European powerhouses including Barcelona and Spurs.
