In what caught many people unaware, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has on Wednesday, January 8, announced that they will step back as "senior" members of the Royal Family.

According to the couple, they will now work to become financially independent.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made this known in a statement on their official Instagram this evening.

Recall that Legit.ng had reported that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were considering relocating to Canada, according to a close confidant of the couple identified as Tom Bradby has disclosed.

Bradby said he does not ask the couple what their plans are, adding that there are a million possibilities of the couple relocating to Canada.

"I don't ask what their plans are. They keep that pretty close to their chest and understandably so.

'I don't think it’s a done deal, that would be my impression. There is a lot of talking to be done. There is a million possibilities. They could go to Canada," he said.
