- Donald Trump, the president of the United States, is expected to react formally to the attack on the country's facilities in Iraq
- Earlier reacting to the attack on the facilities by Iran, Trump had simply said: "All is well"
- The US president maintains that his country remains the most powerful in the world
There seems to be a buildup of tension as the world anxiously awaits a formal comment from President Donald Trump concerning the recent attack by Iran on the United States' facilities in Iraq.
"All is well! Missiles launched from Iran at two military bases located in Iraq. Assessment of casualties & damages taking place now.
"So far, so good! We have the most powerful and well-equipped military anywhere in the world, by far! I will be making a statement tomorrow morning," Donald Trump tweeted after the incident.
Reuters also quotes White House spokesperson, Stephanie Grisham, as saying Trump had received briefings on the attack by Iran.
She said the president was monitoring the situation.
“We are aware of the reports of attacks on US facilities in Iraq. The president has been briefed and is monitoring the situation closely and consulting with his national security team,” Grisham said in a statement.
The report also quotes a US official as saying rockets were fired at Iraq’s al Asad airbase, which hosts US forces.
Legit.ng earlier quoted Daily Mail as reporting that in the aftermath of the killing of Iran's General Qasem Soleimani, an $80 million bounty was placed on Trump's head by the country.
It was gathered that Iran also threatened that it would attack the White House in response to the president's warning that any strike on American interests in the region would bring massive retaliation.
