- The 30-year-old has moved to dispel the reports, insisting he is happy and committed to the Mikel Arteta-tutored side
Arsenal skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has reassured fans he is committed to the club after it was suggested he is not happy at the Emirates.
Aubameyang, who is currently Gunners' top scorer with 15 goals in all competitions, has widely been tipped to quit the north London outfit before 2021 when his contract comes to an end.
However, the 30-year-old has moved to quell rumours surrounding his future, insisting he is "committed and desperate to bring the club back to the top."
In notes written on matchday programme ahead of the FA Cup tie with Leeds on Monday night, January 6, the striker noted the club is headed in the right direction and his commitment should not be questioned.
"I would also like to react to some of the rumours that are going around about me in the media," the Gabonese ace said.
"People like making up stories and they should focus on what’s happening on the pitch. They talk too much and it does my head in. I am the Arsenal captain. I love this club. I am committed to it and desperate to bring it back to the top, where it belongs," he added.
Aubameyang has found the back of the net in two of Mikel Arteta’s three matches he has been in charge of Arsenal.
However, he was not on the score sheet in the Gunners 2-0 comfortable win over Manchester United.
