A former governor of the defunct Western Region, Brig.-Gen. Oluwole Rotimi (retd.), has declared that the present crop of political leaders should be held responsible for Nigeria’s problems.

He blamed the present generation of political leaders for the country woes.

Going further, he listed greed and complacency as the hallmark of the present generation of political leaders.

He consequently said he had given up hope on the present generation of political leaders due to their selfish approach to governance.

Rotimi disclosed this at the 2020 edition of Benjamin Oluwakoyode Osuntokun Memorial Lecture at Emeritus Professor Theophilus Ogunlesi Hall of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had written that a report emerged about an alleged plot being hatched by some governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to stop the presidential ambition of a leader of the party, Bola Tinubu.

The alleged plot to derail Tinubu’s ambition is being backed by second-term governors and some immediate past governors of the party.

A newspaper citing unnamed sources in the party, reports that directly connected to the plot against Tinubu is a plan to remove the APC national chairman Adams Oshiomhole.

The reported move to replace Oshiomhole is to prevent Tinubu from getting the APC presidential ticket.

“If Oshiomhole remains as national chairman, then you can be sure that Tinubu’s chances are 50% of getting the presidential ticket of the APC,” a source privy to the plans said.
