- Relationship expert Joro Olumofin has dropped a candid advice for ladies on social media

- Olumofin stressed the importance of keeping a contingency boyfriend

- This, according to the expert is to prevent the rampant level of heartbreaks and depression

Popular Nigerian relationship expert has dropped some candid words of advice for women as we usher in a new year.

According to Olumofin, his advice became necessary as a result of the staggering number of heartbreaks and depression witnessed by ladies who just got out of relationships.

For this reason, he stressed the importance of having what he described as a ‘backup/contingency boyfriend ’.

In a lengthy post shared on his official account on Instagram, the relationship guru described a contingency partner as someone that has all the qualities of a husband material but is kept at arm’s length as a platonic friend.

With the level of heartbreak and depression amongst ladies who just got out of relationships, I believe it’s time for ladies to have a ‘Contingency Boyfriend’ ; a backup boyfriend. Who is a contingency boyfriend? A contingency boyfriend is a guy who fits all your criteria of a husband material but is your platonic friend," his message read in part.

Emphasizing his advice further, Olumofin strongly suggested that ladies should have a person they can marry in a period of six-months, in a case where they get jilted by their lovers. He said a staggering 90% of men have back up girlfriends, so ladies should do the same.
