- President Buhari received in audience the newly-elected president of Guinea Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embaló, in State House

- Embalo was at the presidential villa on Sunday, January 5, on a thank-you visit

- The president-elect of Guinea Bissau also used the opportunity to inform President Buhari of his selection as Guest of Honour at his inauguration

President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday, January 5, received in audience the newly-elected president of Guinea Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embaló in State House.

Tolu Ogunlesi, who is the special assistant to President Buhari on new media, said the Guinea Bissau's president-elect was at the presidential villa to thank Buhari and to request for a working relationship between Nigeria and Guinea Bissau.

Ogunlesi added that the new president of Guinea Bissau also used the opportunity to inform President Buhari of his selection as Guest of Honour at the presidential inauguration scheduled for February.

Meanwhile, following an outcry by Nigerians, President Buhari has given assurance that he would not speedily withdraw military forces maintaining security across the country.
