Ghanaian football fraternity has been thrown into mourning following the death of former Sea Lions midfielder and promising star Berikisu Tijani.
According to the report, Berikisu passed away on Friday afternoon, January 3, 2020, after a long battle with illness - she was 20 years of age.
During her active days, Berikisu was instrumental to Sea Lions' sensational qualification to the National Women's league in 2016.
She left football for a while to continue with her education after a groin surgery which rendered her incapacitated. She was one of the budding talents to the National Women's League until her death.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that football fraternities in France have been thrown into deep mourning following the death of 23-year-old striker Nathan Julan who died in a fatal accident on Friday, January 3.
Nathan Julan was on his way home from training before he was involved in a car accident near the town of Saint-Brieuc with firefighters called to the scene.
Before the untimely death of Nathan Julan, he was plying his trade with Ligue 2 side Guingamp and the club have also confirmed his demise.
