Football fraternities in France have been thrown into deep mourning following the death of 23-year-old striker Nathan Julan who died in a fatal accident on Friday, January 3.
Nathan Julan was on his way home from training before he was involved in a car accident near the town of Saint-Brieuc with firefighters called to the scene.
Before the untimely death of Nathan Julan, he was plying his trade with Ligue 2 side Guingamp and the club have also confirmed his demise.
"The club had the immense pain of learning this afternoon of the accidental death of their player Nathael Julan.
"On this tragic day, all the members of the club join together to send their condolences to Nathael's family,'' Guingamp released in a statement.
Julan came through the ranks at Le Havre before joining Guingamp in 2018.
He featured regularly in Ligue 1 during his debut campaign before moving to Valenciennes on loan in January 2019.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how former Nigerian youth international Philip Osondu was confirmed dead in Belgium at the age of 48.
The ex-Anderlecht attacker was said to have taken himself to a hospital in the European country for cross-examination but where he eventually met his death.
As at the time this report was gathered, the cause of his death is still unknown but he was said to have felt uncomfortable while at work and decided to drive himself to the health center.
