Arsenal on Wednesday night, January 1, produced a superb performance at the Emirates stadium beating visiting Manchester United 2-0 in a tough Premier League encounter.
Manchester United traveled to the Emirates stadium with the hope of getting a nice result against Arsenal, but they were made to pay for all the chances they missed.
Arsenal scored the first goal in this encounter in the 8th minute through Nicolas Pepe who benefited from a nice assist by Kolasinac.
The Red Devils had the chance to restore parity five minutes later when Luke Shaw provided a superb assist for Fred, but the Brazilian was unable to score against Bernd Leno.
Lucas Torreira also had the chance to increase the scoreline for Arsenal in the 38th minute after a brilliant pass from Xhaka, but his shot was blocked David De Gea.
Mikel Arteta's men scored their second goal in the 42nd minute through Sokratis who gained from an assist by Lacazette.
Manchester United tried all their best to get a goal back or possibly restore parity, but they were unable to do so as Arsenal recorded a 2-0 win.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are occupying fifth position on the Premier League standings, while Arsenal occupy 10th after 21 games.
