M.I maintains stand as Wizkid’s old tweets calling Akon 'big bro' emerge

- Nigerian rapper MI recently called out Akon for tagging Wizkid as his little brother

- MI’s post generated controversy, with many suggesting that Akon is well within his rights

- The rapper, however, returned to reiterate and maintain his position, even after tweets of Wizkid calling Akon his big brother surfaced online

Nigerian rapper MI Abaga recently ruffled feathers in the online community, following his reaction to a post by international music act, Akon.

In Akon’s post, he had celebrated Nigerian music star Wizkid, and referred to him as his ‘little brother’.

MI, however, quoted the tweet and noted that the musician should not be referring to Wizkid as his younger one.

His response, however, led to a heavy backlash on the microblogging platform, as many noted that Akon was well within his rights to refer to the Nigerian singer as such, because he was older than him by age and even in his achievement as a musician.

Bent on exerting his freedom to expression, MI returned with a couple of tweets in which he made it clear that Africans in diaspora did not play a major role in Wizkid’s success.

He said as a strong fan of the Joro crooner, he does not see him as a younger bro to any artist, because of the obstacles he has managed to overcome.
