- Jorge Mendes believes Ronaldo and Joao Felix can both help Portugal to win the World Cup
- Ronaldo has won virtually all the trophies, but has not lifted the World Cup title
- He will be 37 by the time the next tournament arrives in 2022
Super agent Jorge Mendes has reiterated that Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player in the world adding that his client and Joao Felix can win the World Cup together.
Mendes' claim comes after Cristiano Ronaldo received the Best Men’s Player of the Year title at the Dubai Globe Soccer Awards.
Cristiano Ronaldo recently lost the 2019 Ballon d'Or award to Lionel Messi who has now lifted the crown six times in his career.
“Together, they could win the World Cup for Portugal,” Mendes told Sky Sport Italia, even though Ronaldo would be 37 by the time the next tournament arrives in 2022.
“Cristiano can no longer be compared with anyone, as for me he remains a unique species, different from everybody else. At over 30 years old, he has done things nobody else has achieved and the younger players take him as an example.
“He already has nine Serie A goals this season, in the most difficult league in the world for forwards. He wants to win a lot more with Juventus and will soon be 35, but can still play on until he wants to,'' Mendes explained according to Football Italia.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Cristiano Ronaldo gave a clue that he could be calling it a day with football at the end of the season.
The 34-year-old joined Juventus for a £100 million transfer from Real Madrid last season in a four- year deal.
And despite winning many trophies with club and country, the Portuguese international has admitted that it may be time to hang his boots.
