- The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, was at the meeting

President Muhammadu Buhari, in the morning of Monday, December 30, held a crucial closed-door meeting with Nigeria's service chiefs inside Aso Rock Villa.

The meeting is to help the president receive security briefings from the service chiefs including the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu.

At the time of this report, details of the meeting, known to be very important to the administration, had not been made public.

Legit.ng understands that the minister of defence, Major General Bashir Magashi (rtd), led the service chiefs to the meeting with the president.

The military chiefs who attended the meeting include the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Abayomi Olonisakin; Chief of Air Staff (COAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar; the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Ibok Ekwe Ibas.

The director general of the Department of State Services (DSS), Yusuf Bichi, was also at the meeting.

The meeting also had the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha; and the National Security Adviser (NSA), Babagana Monguno.

It was further learnt that the Chief of Army Staff (CoAS), Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, was not at the meeting. He was represented by a senior officer of the Nigerian Army.

Legit.ng earlier reported that the Nigerian Army recently seized 85 bags of smuggled rice in a compound in Abor-Uwani community in Afikpo North local government area of Ebonyi as part of its Exercise Atologwu Udo 1'.

The recent development was made known in a statement by Colonel Aliyu Yusuf, the deputy director of public relations of 82 division of the Nigerian Army on Saturday, December 28.
