Couple who accidentally threw away £15,000 at recycling plant gets their money back

- A couple mistakenly threw away £15,000 (N7,120,297.50) cash money at a recycling plant where they took their trash

- The trash were boxes they cleared from the houses of a deceased relative and unknown to them, the money was stashed in one of them

- An honest staff of the plant who saw the money contacted the police who tracked the couple and returned the money to them

A couple almost lost it all when they accidentally threw away £15,000 (N7,120,297.50) at a recycling plant. Grace, however, found them as the money was returned to them.

Daily Mail reports that the couple, who are from Bunham-On-Sea, took many boxes from a deceased relative's house to a recycling port in Midsomer Norton, Somerset, without knowing that a big amount of money was in one of them.

Thanks to a very vigilant staff who saw the money when he was looking for an electric cable. The worker contacted the Avon and Somerset police who were able to find the duo through footage from CCTV from the recycling plant.

They said that the relative was known to hide money in strange places in the house. The police thanked the honest staff who reported the case.

“We would like to say a big thank you to the staff at the recycling centre. Without their diligent attitude, integrity and assistance, the family would never have known about the money found, and we would not have been able to return it to them, especially in time for Christmas,” the police said.
