- Erling Braut Haaland has completed a move to German club Borussia Dortmund
- This will be a big blow for Manchester United who also wanted his signature
- Dortmund took to their social media page to announce the signing of Haaland
German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund have announced the signing of Norwegian footballer Erling Haaland therefore beating Manchester United for his signature.
Erling Haaland was linked with a move to join Manchester United in which the Red Devils was believed to have met his release clause, but they could not meet his transfer fee's condition.
The 19-year-old striker will join Borussia Dortmund officially on January 3 on a four-and-a-half-year deal.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Erling Haaland told Manchester United manager Ole Solskjaer that he wanted to play under him at Old Trafford.
Picture of the player signing a Manchester United shirt also trended on social media in which the club's fans hoped they would see Haaland playing in England.
Solskjaer is planning to bolster his squad when the January transfer window opens and has identified Haaland as one of his targets.
Haaland has scored 28 times and registered seven assists in just 22 games for Salzburg this season in all competitions.
"I had intensive discussions with the club management and the sports management, especially with Hans-Joachim Watzke, Michael Zorc and trainer Lucien Favre.
"There was a feeling right from the start that I absolutely wanted to switch to this club, go this route and play football in this incredible Dortmund atmosphere in front of more than 80,000 spectators. I'm already burning for it,'' Haaland explained according to report on Sky Sports.
