- An ex Senate president, Bukola Saraki, has angrily reacted to the Kwara state government for taking over the property of his late father
- Saraki said that the governor of the state, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, is only trying to clean off his father's legacies instead of serving the state's interest
- The former Senate president also said that the concerned property was allocated to one of his father's companies, during the second republic
A former Senate president, Bukola Saraki, has responded to how the Kwara state government revoked Ile-Arugbo, his father’s, Olusola Saraki’s property, for years.
Daily Trust reports that governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has really crossed the line with his recent effort to obliterate his late father’s late legacies in the state.
In a statement issued by the former Senate president in Lagos on Saturday, December 28, he said the latest development showed Abdulrazaq as a person who does not respect history and only out to get the Sarikis down instead of fighting the interest of the state.
Saraki said that the property is legally his father’s and was allocated to one of his companies, Asa Investment Limited, since the 1980s.
“And contrary to the claim of the Governor, the land was properly allocated and a Right of Occupancy title issued on it. It should be noted that the excuse given by Abdulrazaq in his revocation order holds no water since it is clear that this is the height of his vengeance against my father, Dr. Abubakar Olusola Saraki,” he said.
He said what the governor did was to properly show the kind of person he really is, saying the government thinks his administration will be the last in the state.
“Yesterday night, the Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq finally showed his true colour when he announced his decision to revoke the ownership of a property rightfully held by my late father…
May be, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq thinks his will be the last administration in Kwara State but definitely, this is self-delusion,” he said.
