Sanwo-Olu begins road improvement in Lekki, Epe, Ikotun, Allen Avenue, Maryland

In a bid to end the usual gridlock on major roads, the Lagos state government has begun improvements of some junctions.

This was confirmed by the commissioner for transportation in the state, Frederic Oladeinde, on Friday, December 27, PM News reports.

Oladeinde said that the move is one of Governor Sanwo-Olu's ways of fulfilling his promises at the beginning of his administration.

The commissioner said that the improvement of junctions will be done in areas like 2nd Roundabout Lekki/Epe Expressway, Ikotun, Allen Avenue and Maryland.

He further explained that the junctions needs expansion as they can no longer meed the needs of the growing population of the state.

On his part, the commissioner for information and strategy, Omotoso, called on Lagosians to be patient with the state government as it continues to make efforts towards tackling the issue of gridlock.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that in the spirit of the season, Sanwo-Olu had declared free bus ride as part of his Christmas gift to commuters in the state.

The gesture by Sanwo is to ease the stress and pain of Lagosians often faced on some of the major roads in the state especially during public holidays.

This was revealed on Wednesday, December 25, by the assistant director, corporate communication of Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), Kolawole Ojelabi.

Ojelabi explained that key bus operators like Primero Transport Services Limited (PTSL) and Lagos Bus Services Limited (LBSL) will run services on their routes free of charge.
