Bashir Ahmad, the personal assistant on new media to President Muhammadu Buhari has commended the plans by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to create 50,000 direct and indirect jobs.

Speaking on the significance of the shareholders of the Nigeria LNG Limited taking a Final Investment Decision (FID) for Train 7, the Group Managing Director (GMD) of the NNPC, Mele Kyari, had said that the initiative will fetch the federal government $20 billion and renew the confidence of investors in the economy.

Reacting to the development via a tweet, Ahmad commended the NNPC for the initiative describing it as a great milestone for Nigeria.

"This is a great milestone for Nigeria, especially the Niger Delta region, which rightly yearns for more development projects. The project is expected to create about 10,000 direct and 40,000 indirect jobs. Thank you Baba @MBuhari. Kudos @MKKyari," he tweeted.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Kyari said the unemployed youth across the country would be the beneficiary of the 50,000 jobs.

The NNPC boss made the pledge during the signing ceremony of the NLNG Trains 1-3 & 7 Gas Supply Agreements (GSAs).
