Barcelona talisman, Lionel Messi, has revealed the secrets of his free-kicks success, with the Argentine attributing it to extensive training and learning of goalkeepers' movements.

Messi scored one of the best free-kicks of his career in Barcelona's massive win over Liverpool during the last season Champions League semi-final at Camp Nou.

The Argentine star shot from a long range, curling the ball close to the top bar to leave Liverpool goalie Alisson Becker forlorn between the sticks.

Speaking with La Liga in an exclusive 90th anniversary interview, the Barcelona star claimed that his consistency with training made him a dead-ball specialist.

"It's about all learning and training," Messi said.

"Recently I have been looking into it, and especially in free-kicks, to see if they [goalkeepers] move before, if they make a small movement, if not how they react, how they place the wall.

“It’s true that I am now studying this a bit more. Everything is work and training, I have been getting better with training,” the 32-year-old further submitted.

The 32-year-old superstar scored the 50th free-kick of his career in October in Barcelona’s 5-1 win over Real Valladolid at the Camp Nou.

The Argentine was recently crowned La Liga's best player for 2018-19 season, clinching his seventh Di Stéfano gong and sixth Pichichi trophy in the process.
