National chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, has reportedly rejected the Christmas gift that Governor Godwin Obaseki.

According to the special adviser on media and communication strategy to the Edo state governor, Crusoe Osaige, the gift sent sent to Oshiomhole includes four cows and 10 bags of rice, The Cable reports.

He said: “The messengers said they met the mother of the former governor who rejected the items, stating that her son would not accept the gifts.”

“The gift items meant for comrade Oshiomhole include four cows and ten bags of rice.

Going further, the spokesman said the distribution of Christmas gifts was an annual “ritual” by the state government which is an expression of love.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that Oshiomhole was described as a serial liar.

Osagie, Governor Godwin Obaseki's, who disclosed this on behalf of his principal, said Oshiomhole should not be taken seriously.

He disclosed this on Monday, December 16, in Benin. He went ahead to list several instances where he alleged that Oshiomhole twisted the truth.

“In 2015, when Oshiomhole was governor, he polled 208,469 votes against Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) 286,869, with a 78,400 deficit. While in 2019, under Obaseki, the APC scored 267,842, while the PDP got 275,691, with a 7,849 marginal loss," he said.
