Nigerian soldiers on the Boko Haram battle have, despite the odds, taken time to send Christmas greetings as Christians in the country join the rest of the world to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
In the early hours of Wednesday, December 25, a Nigerian soldier fighting the Boko Haram insurgents in the northeast, shared pictures of him and his colleagues as they congratulate Nigerians on having a peaceful Christmas celebration.
“Merry Christmas from this side..May this season come with a reason to always smile and stay happy,” the soldier tweeted via his handle, @optamasting

In a related development, President Muhammadu Buhari has received a special Christmas gift from his deputy, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
Osinbajo via his official Facebook page shared photos of himself and President Buhari as he presented the gift him.
"I think Mr President was delighted with his Christmas gift," the vice president captioned the photos.
A look at the photos shows Buhari wearing a very expressive look, indicating that he was truly delighted with the gift as the vice president noted.
