Manchester United star Paul Pogba has been labelled as the best midfielder in the world by his manager at Old Trafford Ole Gunnar Solskjaer upon his return from injury.

Since September when has got injured against Arsenal, Pogba made a return to Manchester United squad and played against Watford in a disappointing defeat for the Red Devils.

And while speaking ahead of Manchester United's boxing day game against Newcastle United, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says how Pogba feels will determine if he will play in the encounter.

"It might be that we do get him in from the start because you just want to get more and more into the team when he plays.

"He can play anywhere, he can play the whole midfield, he is a box-to-box midfielder. He can drop deep, get it and play them long passes. He can get higher up and combine like he did on Sunday.

"It depends on the game. That's the beauty of having Paul because he is the best all-round midfielder in the world, he can do all the roles. It's great to have him back,'' Solskjaer explained according to Sky Sports.

Manchester United are currently occupying eight position on the Premier League standings with 25 points after 18 games played this term.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Premier League side Manchester United reportedly lost out to Italian champions Juventus in the race to sign Red Bull Salzburg striker Erling Braut Haaland.

Erling Braut Haaland has been linked with a move to Manchester United with the club's fans expecting his arrival at Old Trafford when transfer window opens.
