But Lukaku who has scored five more goals than Ronaldo in the league this season admitted that the Juventus striker was right.
“He told me this is the hardest defensive league in the world,” Lukaku told the New York Times.
“He said he’d scored goals everywhere, but this was the toughest place to do it.
“And if Cristiano Ronaldo thinks it’s difficult, then it must be really difficult.
“It is harder than England. The football is more intense there, but here everything is pattern of play.”
Lukaku believes he settled quickly in the Italian league because of hard work and understands the language.
Inter are currently on top of the league table on goal difference with Juventus coming second and will be returning to action on 6 January, after the winter break.
