Premier League champions Manchester City on Saturday night, December 21, beat rivals Leicester City 3-1 at the Etihad stadium to keep pressure on second placed Foxes.
Despite this victory by Pep Guardiola's men, they are still occupying third position on the Premier League standings, but they have reduced the gap between them and Leicester to just one point.
England striker Jamie Vardy scored the first goal for Leicester City in the 22nd minute after receiving a fine assist from Harvey Barnes.
But Algeria international Riyad Mahrez restored parity for Manchester City in the 30th minute before Ilkay Gundogan gave the Citizens the lead via a penalty in the 48th minute.
The first half however ended with Manchester City taking the 2-1 lead into the dressing room.
Brazilian football star Gabriel Jesus netted the third goal for Manchester City in the 69th minute and it was Kevin De Bruyne who gave him the assist as Pep Guardiola's men won 3-1.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Pep Guardiola made it clear that he will quit Manchester City if he does not meet the set target this season in the Premier League.
