NDDC interim committee uncovers $34m power equipment abandoned at Nigerian ports

The Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) said it uncovered abandoned power station components worth $34 million.

The NDDC’s acting executive director of projects, Cairo Ojougboh, made this known a statement released on Thursday, December 19, Channels TV reports.

Ojougboh said the power station components were abandoned at the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) in Rivers State since 2017.

Legit.ng gathers that Ojougboh said he had received a report on the NDDC cargo and quickly visited the NPA to confirm the report.

He said he and another member of the committee met the abandoned equipment at the port which was meant for NDDC sub-stations at Ekparagwa and Ikot Epkene in Akwa Ibom state.
