The governor of Ondo state, Rotimi Akeredolu, has warned that under no circumstance would he play politics with his state.

Akeredolu said he would continue to render purposeful and selfless leadership that engenders all-round development in the state.

Speaking on Thursday, December 19, during the Ondo state's Carols and Lessons, the governor said he believes that every state government and its governor should be focused on people-oriented development.

He also said that development of rural areas through the construction of roads for easy facilitation and evacuation of agricultural produce from the farms will be the top priority of his administration as the dry season starts.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Akeredolu had earlier sacked his aide on political matters, Augustine Pelemo.

Pelemo was sacked over what considered a controversial post on Facebook where he described the wife of the state's deputy governor as 'acting first lady' in a post to celebrate her birthday.
