Shahdon Winchester, Trinidad and Tobago star, dies at age 27

- Shahdon Winchester has died in an accident which also took the life of his girlfriend

- The Trinidad and Tobago star died on Thursday morning, December 19

- He was driving when his car collided with a telephone pole and captured fire

Football fans in Trinidad and Tobago have been thrown into deep mourning following the untimely death of their star footballer Shahdon Winchester who died at the age of 27.

According to the report on UK Sun, Shahdon Winchester died in a fireball car crash which also took the lives of three other people.

The sad incident was reported to have occurred on Thursday morning, December 19, in which one woman and three men lost their lives.

The woman has since been identified as Winchester's girlfriend and a second man has been named as Keston Nicholas.

Shahdon Winchester's Nissan X-Trail collided with a telephone pole and all the people inside the car died.

Transformer fell on the car and it became engulfed in flames in which those inside were unable to escape.

Fire fighters later arrived at the scene, but there was nothing they could do whey they got there as Winchester and his friends were already dead.

"Tragic and heartbreaking news just coming to hand.

"Trinidad and Tobago forward Shahdon Winchester has been confirmed as one of the persons who have died in a vehicle accident this morning in Gasparillo.

"This is truly tragic news for us. May his soul rest in eternal peace,'' Trinidad and Tobago Football Association's statement read.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how former Nigerian youth international Philip Osondu was confirmed dead in Belgium at the age of 48.

The ex-Anderlecht attacker was said to have taken himself to a hospital in the European country for cross-examination but where he eventually met his death.
