Premier League table-toppers Liverpool have completed the signing of Japanese forward Takumi Minamino from Red Bull Salzburg.
The 24-year-old attacker will become the Reds official player at the turn of the new year after passing medicals at the club earlier this week.
Minamino will wear jersey number 18 for the Merseyside outfit once he can kick the ball for the Champions League defending champions.
The Japanese star caught the attention of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp after showing the quality he is made of when they clash in the Champions League earlier this year.
He almost inspired his side to a dramatic comeback before Mohamed Salah scored the winning goal that handed the Reds maximum points at Anfield on October 2.
While reacting to the move, Minamino told Liverpool official website: "It has been a dream, my dream to become a Liverpool player. And I’m so excited that the moment has come true.
"To play in the Premier League was one of my targets. I think this is the top-class league in the world; I was thinking if my career as a footballer progressed smoothly, someday I would be able to play in the Premier League.

"But I never thought I would be able to play in this team and I’m really happy about it. I’m looking forward to it."
Although Minamino has a deal with his Austrian League side until the summer of 2021, he will now start a new life in the Premier League from the winter of 2020.
The Reds successfully triggered his £7.25 million release clause after dazzling in the UCL clash that almost saw the Reds drop points in front of their fans courtesy of the Japanese brilliance.
Meanwhile, Sky Sport reports that the Reds will be able to register Minamo in January when the transfer window opens.
So far this season in the Austrian Bundesliga, Minamino scored five goals while assisting six others for the league leaders Salzburg.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Liverpool are planning to sign Red Bull Salzburg Takumi Minamino when the January transfer window opens next month.
And the Japanese prolific scorer will be able to feature for the Reds in the Champions League if the deal pulls through at the end of the window.
This is because UEFA - the European football governing body has changed the rules guiding the continental championship at the knockout stages.
