Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that the immediate past chairman of the FIRS, Fowler, had wanted a reappointment for the second term and wrote the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Boss Mustapha to that effect.

A copy of the letter written by Fowler to the SGF was dated December 9 and titled: Re: Notification of expiration of tenure as executive chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Service.

Fowler said his reappointment would have helped in the consolidation of previous achievements in the tax sector.

But his moves for reappointment weren’t successful as he had been replaced by Nami.

The former FIRS boss had since handed over to the most senior officer in the agency, saying he was grateful for being given the opportunity to serve.
