Sotitobire Miracle Church: Angry youths burn down religious building in Akure

- Some youths in Akure, the Ondo capital, on Wednesday, December 18, took laws into their hands and vented their anger on a famous church in the state

- The youths burned down Sotitobire Miracle Church over the alleged discovery of the corpse of a year-old boy in the building

- The founder of the church, Prophet Alfa Babatunde, has been arrested and is presently in the custody of the DSS

- The police have said no body was recovered from the church as claimed by the arsonists who burned down the religious building

Wednesday, December 18, was not a very lovely day for some persons in Ondo as some angry youths razed a religious centre, the Sotitobire Miracle Church in Akure, the state capital.

The youths burned down the church following the alleged discovery of the remains of a year-old boy, who was recently reported missing inside the church, The Nation reports.

Prophet Alfa Babatunde, the founder of the church, has been arrested and is said to be in the custody of the Department of State Security (DSS).

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that a 72-year-old chartered accountant identified as Mutiu Agbosasa had been gruesomely killed in his retirement home in Ikorodu, Lagos state. The man was killed in his home after living in the United States for 45 years.

It was gathered that the deceased had decided to retire to Nigeria after 45 years of working and living in New York.

According to reports, he was killed by hired assassins in his home in Ikorodu after he returned from a gathering with friends at a club in Lagos Island.

A Facebook user identified as Babatunde Naheemdeen Ayodeji reported that the chartered accountant was a respected and honest man in the United States. He said a friend of the family revealed that Agbosasa was shot dead and his remains were burnt with his vehicle.

Agbosasa's wife was said to have been in the church for night vigil when the incident happened. She was called by the gateman who had witnessed the incident not to come home.
